Prices inaccessible and the lack of apartments in Madrid, as happens in other cities or countries, have necessitated a redefinition of the spaces in which we live today. The architect Hector Ruiz Velasquez wanted to use every inch of available space in an attic in the center of Madrid (the size of about 60 square meters), combining efficiency, spirit and feelings through aesthetics and functionality.

“To decorate this mini-apartment we used the basic theatrical tricks, such as forced perspective, to obtain a wider perception of space.”

The white color and lighting are the new design tools. The alternating white tones and shadows create a sense of depth and width.

“We use some dots and black surface to give the breadth and depth, thus creating a complementary contrast and melodic.”
